Catching up is hard, so I will put Monday's and Today's workout together.
I stepped on the scale this morning, today, Tuesday, I and have seen 4 lbs lost. Although for some reason I thought it would be more, I am happy that I made some progress. My dear husband, laughs at me because I want quick results.
I have PCOS( poly cystic ovarian syndrome). It makes losing weight difficult. Especially around the midsection. I take Metformin every day, 1500, and I feel if I combine both exercise and my medication I make a step in the right direction. This PCOS is the reason I have started working out in the past, but quit. I would work out for weeks, and see no change. But I had had enough. So this year I am making sure I combine all three factors: my medication, working out, and eating more healthy. That for me means cutting out a chunk of carbs from my diet. It is a difficult thing to do, and in order for me not to set up myself for failure, I kept a bit of carbs in the diet.I also cut down on my sugar intake. Fruit has helped with this craving, but every now and then I will have a small piece of chocolate, and you know what I don't feel guilty about it. For me the thing was to make a change in the positive direction, which I have.
Seeing the 4 lbs dropped has made me a bit hopeful, that I can actually do this. This week already I feel like I have more energy, less grumpy, and overall happier. I have more energy to keep up with my tot.
So back to my workout, I did 1 hour on the stair climber thingy, and then did 20 sit ups, and 30 push ups. The thing that make me want to work out is that I know what I am going to do, and though an hour doesn't seem like much, I don't feel like I am killing myself. I push myself when I feel like I can go harder by stepping up the resistance. I would do minutes here and there where I would be at resistance 10, then back down to 6.
For breakfast I ate: Brann Flakes, and a grapefruit, and a cup of water.
Lunch: I had a serving of hummus, the morning star chicken nuggets, grapes, blueberries, strawberries, and 5 pits chips. More water.
Snack: I had a Kellogg skake.
Dinner:Homemade Chicken soup YUMM.
I had 2 small cookies later that evening.
Today I have decided to do a double work out. Insane I know but I like my Tuesday routine where I take my tot to the Tumbling class, and go strait to the family fitness room. He know the routine, and runs right in. I worked out again on the stair master for 50 min. Then I worked on my abs, and did some sit ups. It was hard today to try and get them all in. And I did fail to meet my goal of 20, I only did 17. Slacker. I just felt so tender in my tummy, that I just had finished. Oh well. There is always tomorrow to do a bit better. But later tonight I will go and do a Zumba class. I am so looking forward to this. It will break up my routine, and I know I will have some fun doing this.
Breakfast consisted of a whole grapefruit, and a cereal bar. We were running late, so I did what I could.
Lunch: Spinach salad, strawberries, blueberries, walnuts candied.
Snack: A very small bag of hot cheetos. Yikes. I know now that I type it I am like why, why did I do that. I was so hungry for a snack, and I made the wrong choice.
Dinner: Soup/sandwich combo. I didn't want anything too heavy before I hit the gym class.
Here is to a better tomorrow with better decisions.

Day 4
Friday.
Woke up feeling yesterdays workout. But I dragged my booty out of bed, dropped my hubby at work, and with tot in tow I hit the gym. It was a great workout. IT felt good, to workout, but also knowing that this week I had worked out 4 times. I did a jog on the treadmill, and did the stairmaster climber thingy. One day I will know what its called.
This weekend I will try to eat healthy, and my big test is tonight as I go out on Date Night with the hubby. Crossing my fingers, that I can do good. A little dessert will be in store. After all I did work out 4x's this week.
Lets see if I keep this going next week.

Day 3
Thursday Day 3
It was a hard one. I went to a boot class. I worked out soo hard that I nearly peed my pants, and not because I needed to go. Just one of those things that mother nature gave me after the birth of my son.
We needed partners and well, I got stuck with GI Jane. She was a warrior out there, and it helped me out, but in all honesty I would of preferred someone not so tough. Oh well, what is done is done, and I lasted that whole hour. Yes I was still sore from yesterday, but I did it.
I went home and died. LOL.
But with most of my energy gone, I failed to write down my food for the day. The thing I have noticed is I am eating healthier just so that I don't have to write junk on here. Which of course is a good thing. I do recall eating a cookie, small, but it was oh so good.
I know that tomorrow I will definitely be feeling today's workout. I hope to do some light jogging tomorrow. We will see.

DAY 2
Wednesday Day2
Today I dropped off my wee on at daycare for 1/2 the day. I drive right past the gym, which is only one block from the day care. I was dressed to work out so I dropped him off, and I hit the gym. I went back to the family fitness room. There I went to a stair machine in the corner and got right to work. I did it for 40 minutes. That is right. I was on there for 40 minutes. Then I got off and hit the treadmill for another 20 minutes. All in all, I couldn't believe that I had done a whole 1hr work out. Now to see how sore I wake up tomorrow. Note to self, update my ipod selection of music to work out to.
And though my goal for the week has been met, I am going to push my self a bit harder and go to a boot camp class tomorrow morning. I just hope my booty is not feeling to sore.
My food intake for the day;
1 bowl of cereal with 1/2 a banana, and 2% milk.
1 serving of veggie chips.
water, water, and more water
1 fun size milky way
blueberries, black berries, and strawberries
1 apple
handful of yogurt rasins
1 Kellogg protein shake
1 cup of Butternut squash soup with 1/2 a grilled cheese sandwich on sourdough bread.
1 cup of chocolate special K cereal with skim milk.
After dinner it is real hard not to find stuff to munch on. That is when it is the worst for me. So instead of something real bad to each I had the special k last night. I felt good about myself for not getting ice cream, or cookies. And another thing that is helping is doing portion control. I use my little tot's bowls for cereal, soup. A very small bowl really helps.

Day 1
DAY 1 Tuesday Jan 3
With the new year rolling around I thought that I would start a workout routine. It was just a thought. Like every year, part of my resolution. And like every year I thought it was just a thought that would pass.
So today while I took my little tot to mommy/me tumbling class I got lost in the gym, and didn't know where to go. I asked the guy up front and he didn't know as well. So we walked around looking for the class. We came upon the family fitness room. As I peeked in I saw it had a place for me to put my little tot to play, in view, while I could work out. I told myself this would help make working out a bit easier. After the tumbling class, I told myself, well, I am here might as well do a light jog. Well that light jog turned into a hard work out for 20 min. Why only 20 min?! Well my little tot was yelling at the top of his lungs wanting to get out. I was hoping for at least 45 min workout. OH well, not today, but a start is a start.
In writing I will also be keeping a list of what I eat throughout the day to help me.
So today:
1//2 of a bottle of Naked juice.
1 serving of Kellogg cereal
1 bite from my toddlers pretzel
1 serving size of soup
1 apple
water, water, water,
1/2 a 100 calorie bag of kettle popcorn
hand full of m&m's
a bite of a sour patch
roast, mashed potatoes, roasted carrots
So today is my Day 1: and the scale says I am 145.6 lbs.
My goals this week: Make it to the gym at least once more.

Looking at the sneakers!
Around me people have ran half marathons. I am glad that many of my friends and acquaintances have been able to do so. As I hear their stories of success something inside me wants to do the same. Why can't I just be happy for them, and that be the end of it? Why is it bothering me? Why am I up at 1 am wanting to get this off my chest? The old competitor within me seems to have awoke from a 10 year slumber! YES !! 10 years since I last put on any sort of running shoes for that purpose. After all, I was a cross-country runner all through middle school and most of high school. Not only did I run but I was a better than average runner. How hard could it be for me, someone who has ran before, to finish a half marathon. Yes, I know I have never ran that. It would be nice to have it checked off my list of things, I too, have accomplished.
This will be my own personal record in attempting to ease back into the running world I used to enjoy! As I look at my dusty old sneakers I feel a twing of excitement! I only hope this lasts for a while. I need it to last for a good 3 weeks! That would help me try to form some type of habit!
Now to figure out a good time to run!

Stats:
28 yrs old female
1 6-month old baby
10 years since I last ran
1 old pair of unused sneakers
